Here we are! In the middle of Week 3 already! So far, I have created my Delicious account (http://www.delicious.com/georgia_maneta) and did my reading...
"Delicious" seems a great tool! It's like a portable cupboard where you can store your favourite "tickets" for your favourite destinations. No "favorites" in the Explorer, no small notebooks where you write your links. Just an account and that's all. However, I can't help feeling like an old dog (I am not that young anymore) which they are trying to teach new tricks to! All these links and things, generally sound and seem really great, but will I be able to manage to acquire the skills needed to handle them? On the other hand, times are changing and we, as teachers, have to keep up with them or else we will not be able to teach our little digital natives successfully. Keeping them interested is the key... And keeping ourselves updated with the newest educational and technological trends is the second key!
Can I hold both keys???? I still wonder....

Hi Geogia,
ReplyDeleteI has the same feelings with you.As a teacher for teaching aged 7-12,I really have to learn some new skills for them.I'm sure I will be the webskills dog one day.Nice to meet you.
"The webskills dog"!! I like that!! I guess it's something that would suit me!!
DeleteThank you Justin!
Hi, Gergia!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely you can, where there's a will there's a way. We are here to get more delicious web skills to be able to meet the needs of the new generation.
I agree with you that the most difficult task is to keep them interested but it is not impossible.
Taking into account that it is never late to study, I will disagree with you in it comes to feeling too old for these new delicious tools :). As far as I can see, you are extremely curuous so I think there will be no problem to acquire the technological skills.
See you around
Vicky
My problem Vicky is that, indeed I am extremely curious but how far and well can this get me? Will getting more and more information help me or sink into darkness again??? (just a bitter joke, but still, I can't help it not feeling stressed by all that which exists and which is still unknown to me...)
ReplyDeleteHi, Georgia
ReplyDeleteTaking into consideration that you're hard working and extremely curious there is no space for worry. I'm saying this, but I also feel that way, always calculating if I did something right and if I would be able to complete certain tasks.
I agree with you saying that we as the teachers should always keep track of new things to put our lesson constantly on a higher level.
But, during my 4 years experience I saw teachers who are not motivated or interested in making their lessons interesting ( not to about using technology).
So, keep curious and don't worry!
Bojana
Hi, Georgia!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you and Bojana that a teacher should constantly develop their teaching methods. Frankly speaking, sometimes I also have doubts as for my assignments. But I try to be positive about everything because only a careless person doesn't mind. Any experience is first of all knowledge ):
Good luck!!!
Victoria
Hi Georgia,
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice blog page color background, pink! That color symbolizes romance, love, friendship harmony, compassion, relaxation and companionship. Beautiful!
I agree with the fact that the more or deeper we get into something, the more we get confused and feel that we do not know anything because there are even more new things we face. It seems we get lost. But don't worry when you turn back, you have been in better position, with broader perspective, more mature and wiser.
Hi Hermanto!
ReplyDeleteYou can't imagine how many times I changed the colour and the whole look of the blog because I didn't like it! And still, I feel jealous of other classmates' blogs!Anyway! (I can't help being romantic and sensitive, so pink is one of my favourite colours!)
I hope confusion gives its place to expertise one day (I am not expecting to become a 100% expert but with a 70% I would be really happy).
Thank you for your comment!
